Volunteer Page
The
Irish Heritage Festival is a not-for-profit organization of about 110
volunteers, many of whom have been with the Festival since it began in
1994. It is a very active group, and for the last two years, a small group
has represented the Festival by marching in the St. Patrick's Day parades in
Goshen, Orange County, NY and also in "The Big One" in New York
City.

Dear Volunteers,
Year after year, your gift of untold hours of time, effort
and hard work, is the fuel that keeps the IHF engine humming along. Your
generosity of spirit is an inspiration as you ---

As a Festival volunteer, you have:

Helped pre-school children learn to read and to
know "school" is a "happy place".

Contributed to the care and welfare of the retired
Carmelite priests at St. Albert's Seminary expressing our gratitude for
their years of faithfulness.

Provided bags of non-perishable foods to families and
established a new food program for Senior Citizens in Goshen and surrounding
areas.
-
Enabled a handicapped child to enjoy the therapy and hope
of recovery at Cerebral Palsy Center.
-
Provided and built a playground for pre-school children
and help to develop them physically and emotionally
-
Sponsored a child and his parents to Lourdes, France for
a Pilgrimage of Healing.
-
Eased life for persons with terminal illness and their
families served by Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.
-
Contributed to eye research sponsored by the Middletown
Lions Club and gave the gift of sight to many.
-
Provided scholarship funds for College through Rotary
International and kept alive our heritage of Love of Learning.
-
Remembered and honored all of our Veterans and the
Orange County Veterans Coalition for their courage, contribution and
sacrifice in safeguarding our most cherished of gifts--Freedom.

Provided an opportunity, through
Project Children, for Irish Children, Catholic and Protestant, to spend six
weeks with American Families of every color and creed while learning first
hand that we are all more alike than different.

Donated to the 9-11 Remembrance
Walkway and Garden in the Orange County Arboretum in honor of community
residents who perished.
-
Expressed hope and faith in the
campaign to defeat cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society
Middletown Chapter Relay for Life.

Continued our enduring commitment to
education by donating to the Maureen Murphy Memorial Fund and the Nora
Cronin Presentation Early Learning Center, Newburgh, NY.
-
Assisted our neighbors and friends
who were victims of devastating flood through a donation to Catholic
Charities Community Services of Orange County.
