St. Patrick's Day Parade The Irish Heritage Festival is a not-for-profit organization of about 110 volunteers, many of whom have been with the Festival since it began in 1994.  It is a very active group, and for the last two years, a small group has represented the Festival by marching in the St. Patrick's Day parades in Goshen, Orange County, NY and also in "The Big One" in New York City.

Dear Volunteers,

Year after year, your gift of untold hours of time, effort and hard work, is the fuel that keeps the IHF engine humming along.  Your generosity of spirit is an inspiration as you ---

"Coiméad an traidisiún beo--Keep the tradition alive!"

As a Festival volunteer, you have:

  • Helped pre-school children learn to read and to know  "school" is a "happy place".

  • Contributed to the care and welfare of the retired Carmelite priests at St. Albert's Seminary expressing our gratitude for their years of faithfulness.

  • Provided bags of non-perishable foods to families and established a new food program for Senior Citizens in Goshen and surrounding areas.

  • Enabled a handicapped child to enjoy the therapy and hope of recovery at Cerebral Palsy Center.

  • Provided and built a playground for pre-school children and help to develop them physically and emotionally

  • Sponsored a child and his parents to Lourdes, France for a Pilgrimage of Healing.

  • Eased life for persons with terminal illness and their families served by Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.

  • Contributed to eye research sponsored by the Middletown Lions Club and gave the gift of sight to many.

  • Provided scholarship funds for College through Rotary International and kept alive our heritage of Love of Learning.

  • Remembered and honored all of our Veterans and the Orange County Veterans Coalition for their courage, contribution and sacrifice in safeguarding our most cherished of gifts--Freedom.

  • Provided an opportunity, through Project Children, for Irish Children, Catholic and Protestant, to spend six weeks with American Families of every color and creed while learning first hand that we are all more alike than different.

  • Donated to the 9-11 Remembrance Walkway and Garden in the Orange County Arboretum in honor of community residents who perished.

  • Expressed hope and faith in the campaign to defeat cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society Middletown Chapter Relay for Life.

  • Continued our enduring commitment to education by donating to the Maureen Murphy Memorial Fund and the Nora Cronin Presentation Early Learning Center, Newburgh, NY.

  • Assisted our neighbors and friends who were victims of devastating flood through a donation to Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh-----Thank you very much!
