Music

Wild Rovers  The Wild Rovers were formed in 1999 and have been playing Irish and Country Music from East Durham, NY (The Irish Alps) to the Hamptons in Long Island, NY.  They play many charity and fund-raisers each year as well as Pubs, Clubs and Private Parties.  Combined, they have over 100 years experience with Irish and Country Music.  If you enjoy high energy, toe tapping, sing-alongs and drinking songs, this is the band for you!

Derek Warfield  Derek Warfield is a historian, singer, songwriter, mandolin player and a charismatic founding member of the legendary Wolfe Tones. Performing with the band for over 37 years, he beguiled and entertained audiences worldwide, he has been their voice with stirring introductions and amusing antidotes that have endeared him to countless thousands of fans. He has written and recorded over 60 songs and ballads. “The Foggy Dew” was the first of 16 albums recorded by the Wolfe Tones (1964) while the popular “25th Anniversary” (1989) was their last album as a foursome. 

Derek has kept the true Wolfe Tones tradition alive into the new century. His album, “Legacy” was released in 1995 and followed with “Liberte’ ‘98”, “Sons of Erin” and this year on the prestigious Kells Music label, both “Take Me Home To Mayo” and “Clear The Way”. Derek also has to his credit a video “Legacy” and two books, “The Songs and Ballads of 1798” and “The Irish Songster of the American Civil War”.  See Web Site  See Schedule

Andy Cooney  Christened by The New York Times as "Irish America's Favorite Son", Andy Cooney has taken the Irish-American music scene by storm. His outstanding voice and dynamic stage presence makes him a favorite with audiences as he renders songs ranging from all-time favorites like "Galway Bay" and "Danny Boy" to his hit records "The Irish Wedding Song", "Boston Rose" and "Shannon River". Andy's talent and versatility provide the ability to deliver a song directly to the hearts of his listeners.

Today, Andy has gathered around him the finest group of musicians on the Irish music scene touring all over the US throughout the year. For two seasons of the year, Christmas and St. Patrick's Day, Andy adds to his troupe by inviting other talented entertainers to join him. Some of these legendary Irish performers include Noel V. Ginnity, George Casey, Cahal Dunne, Mac & O, Deirdre Reilly and Dermot O’Brien to name a few. Joanie Madden and Friends Joanie Madden is the Grammy Award winning whistle and flute player who has been the leader of Cherish the Ladies since its inception. Born in New York of Irish parents, she is the second oldest of seven children raised in a musical household; her mother Helen, a dancer of traditional sets hails from Miltown Malbay, County Clare and her father Joe, an All-Ireland Champion on the accordion, comes from Portumna in East Galway. Joanie received her musical training early in life listening to her father and his friends play music at family gatherings and social events. 

She is in constant demand as a studio musician and has performed on over a hundred albums running the gamut from Pete Seeger to Sinead O'Connor. Joanie has played on three Grammy award-winning albums and her involvement on the Hearts of Space labels’ “Celtic Twilight” CD led to a platinum album with over 1,000,000 sales. In the past year she has toured with the Eagles’ Don Henley and was also a featured soloist on the final Lord of the Rings soundtrack. She has recorded three highly successful solo albums; "A Whistle on the Wind", "Song of the Irish Whistle" (named the most successful whistle album in history selling over 280,000 copies) and "Song of the Irish Whistle 2".  See Web Site  See Schedule
 

Step Dancing 

Kerry Dance Kerry Gleason has been involved with Irish Step Dancing for over 35 years.  She studied with Kathleen Rondeau from age 7 to 17 during which time she won both the Eastern United States Junior and Senior Championships.  She toured Ireland twice, performing and competing, winning the prestigious title of All-World Cross Channel Championship in Dublin.  She is a TCRG, certified by An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha.  See Web Site  See Schedule

Pipe Bands

Orange County AOH Pipes and Drums The Pipes & Drums of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division One, has been in existence for over 30 years.  It began in the Monroe, NY area in 1976 by a handful of pipers.  It has now grown to approximately 42 members.  See Web Site See Schedule

 

 


 

Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes and Drums Our band was formed in March of 2000 by a small group of law enforcement officers who played in various civilian bagpipe bands in the Hudson Valley Region. We began with ten members who had a mutual desire to serve our community and within two years have almost tripled in membership and we continue to grow today. We are comprised of law enforcement officers who are employed or reside within the Hudson Valley Region and are of Irish descent.  It is our commitment to assist our community by providing quality entertainment in a variety of ways.  We have donated our services and performed at events such as police graduations, awards ceremonies,  police memorials, Dare Graduations throughout the Hudson Valley, at Valley Central High School with Det. Stephen McDonald, the NY-COPS Foundation on the Intrepid with the Hon. Governor George Pataki, the International Hotel and Restaurant Trade show at the Jacob Javitz Center, at many parades throughout the Hudson Valley and at several memorial and candlelight vigils resulting from the WTC tragedy. We've also performed regularly on area radio stations and cable networks as well as being featured in "The Buzz" section of the The Times Herald-Record. In all we've performed at approximately 100 area events throughout the Hudson Valley.

Marine Color Guard - Lou Ferrara, Charles Czochanski, John Cote, Donald Wells and Jim Masi represent the Marines.

Children's Entertainment

St. Brendan's Gaelic Football Club  This club from Monroe, NY will perform an exhibition of The Game of the Gaels.

Gaelic Football can be described as a mixture of soccer and rugby, although it predates both of those games. Gaelic Football is played on a pitch approximately 137m long and 82m wide. The goalposts are the same shape as on a rugby pitch, with the crossbar lower than a rugby one and slightly higher than a soccer one.  The ball used in Gaelic Football is round, slightly smaller than a soccer ball.  Each team consists of fifteen players, one goalkeeper, three full-backs, three half-backs, two midfielders, three half-forwards and three full-forwards.  See Web Site  See Schedule

Macaroni the Clown is a 1982 graduate of the famous Ringling Brothers Clown College and is a full-time professional children's entertainer. He is also a proud member of the World Clown Association.  See Web Site  See Schedule
